About Magic Moments
Magic Moments is a non-profit organization that produces
an annual musical and theatrical production that integrates
persons with physical and developmental disabilities into
the total performing cast. The organization was founded by
our own Rosemary and Lou Ripp ('52) in 1982 and the Notre
Dame Club of Denver would like to provide their support to
Magic Moments and thank the Ripps for being quiet heroes in
our community.
Now in its 23rd year, Magic Moments, Inc. serves children
and adults in the disabled community by giving them the opportunity
to experience the dramatic and musical arts through performance
in a professional theatrical production. Disabled children
and adults attend rehearsals, work closely with professional
actors, musicians and directors, and take part on stage in
five performances of an original theatrical production.
Magic Moments also gives to the community by contributing
money earned through ticket sales to organizations that support
disabled children and adults throughout the Denver metro area.
Organizations benefiting from Magic Moments include: The Colorado
Chapter of the Autism Society of America, Craig Rehabilitation
Hospital, Denver Options, Colorado special Olympics, ARC and
The Bridge Community. Magic Moments has donated over $180,000
to these and similar organizations over the past 24 years.
From a humble beginning of 25 or so volunteers, today's Magic
Moments cast of around 200 writes their own scripts, do their
own costuming, set design and construction, and counteless
benind the scenes activities. They depend on donations, patrons,
grants and advertising for their production costs.
Magic Moments is always in need of volunteers, both on and
off stage. Please go to www.magicmomentsinc.org
for more information. The NDCD will keep you updated on their
next performance.
Please contact Magic Moments directly or Rosemary and Lou
Ripp at (303) 697-8632 if you'd like to get involved.
