Adopt-A-School (Annunciation Elementary)
Our adopted school is Annunciation Catholic Grade School
in Denver (3536 Lafayette St.). Although operating in one
of the poorest neighborhoods in Denver, Annunciation offers
its young students an education rich in faith, hope, love,
and of course, the basics. It is able to do so only because
of the sacrifices of its faculty and the contributions of
generous supporters. NDCD built a wonderful relationship with
Sister Jean, Annunciation Principal, the faculty and students
of Annunciation last year.
We will need many volunteers to continue that relationship
this year! Contact John Studebaker at bigira@stude.org
if you are interested in helping on any of the upcoming events:
Hopefully we will see many new faces at these events this
year.
Annunciation School Carnival
The annual Annunciation School Carnival will be on Saturday,
March 15th, at the school. Volunteers are needed
to help with the games and to supervise the kids. The Carnival
runs from noon until around 5:00 pm.
All of our ND Families are invited to attend. If you would
like to help out, please email Bob Kelley at robertkelley2@gmail.com.
This would be a great Community Service activity to participate
in following the St. Patrick's Day Parade earlier in the day.
9 Heath Fair
Sr. Jean is also asking for our help to staff the 9 Health
Fair location at Annunciation Parish and School on Sunday,
April 13th. She is in need of all kinds of help,
including set up the day before, Saturday, April 12th. The
actual 9 Health Fair is on Sunday from 7:00 am until Noon.
Of special need are medical professionals who can draw blood,
take blood pressure. etc. Also, anyone who speaks Spanish
would be of immense help for the effort.
If you can help, please email Bob Kelley at robertkelley2@gmail.com.
