What:
Brent’s Place prides itself on being a place where families are offered hope and healing when facing the most demanding time of their lives. It’s a place where kids being treated for life threatening cancer can still be kids.
Since its inception, Brent’s Place has remained the only hospital approved “Safe-Clean” housing facility for immune compromised patients and their families, providing a living environment that is essential to healing and recovery.
In 2011, Brent's Place provided 87 family stays. The average length of stay was 105 days, up from 81.5 days in 2010, for a total of 5,274 room nights and a 96% occupancy rate. Brent’s Place offered 394 family programs in 2011, serving 7,330 participants!
Volunteers will be planning, purchasing groceries, and then preparing dinner for the residents of the house. Due to the strict health guidelines of the house, food preparation will take place off site and delivered to the house without any interaction with the families.
