Northwest Metro

You may have noticed that the Club has been picking up the pace of activities in the northwest metro area over the last year. We have a large number of Club members in Boulder, Broomfield, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Erie, Longmont, Niwot, Thornton and beyond, and even more alumni we’d like to reach who are not yet Club members.

For those of you who braved the cold, snowy first annual Boulder Family Picnic in 2009 (and withstood an earlier picnic postponement for yet another snowy, cold day), you know that one of the Club’s objectives is to improve Club reach and events to better serve this part of the metro area. The most recent example of this was the 2010 Boulder Family Picnic on September 18th. And, yes, the weather was not the normal perfect Colorado autumn weather, again. But for those who showed up with their families, we all had a lot of fun visiting, reminiscing, getting to know each other, and watching all the kids play. We also held a Communion Breakfast at Immaculate Conception Church in Lafayette this past May. And now, the northwest corridor will have a monthly Huddle Networking Breakfast that will rotate between Mimi’s Café in Broomfield and The Buff Restaurant in Boulder.

2010-2011 promises more. In fact, the Club hopes to have at least four events in the next 12 months. As mentioned above, we kicked it off this fall with our second annual Boulder Family Picnic. In November, we hope to assemble a team of volunteers to help out with the 9 Cares, Colorado Shares event which now boasts a large pickup site in our neck of the woods -- watch the website for further information. In the spring, we’ll schedule another Communion Breakfast. And if you have other ideas (do you want to host a Family Football Game Watch at your home, schedule monthly hikes, etc?), or want to help out in the planning of any of these events, please raise your hand! The Club could use your creative ideas, your help, and your organization. Just call or email me, Brian Armstrong. I can help get you started, or I might need your help on events I am organizing.

So if you have been wanting to get involved in the Club, but just haven’t been able to make the drive to Denver for past events, or haven’t found the right event for your interests, now is the time to We’re excited about this new push into the northwest corridor, and we hope to see you at one or more of the future events up this way.
